Updated:05 August 2008 The 2008 WSN Annual Meeting will be held, November 06-09, 2008 in Vancouver, Britich Columbia, Canada. As usual, the student committee will be holding a number of exciting events at this meeting, including a workshop, symposium, student mixer and auction. Symposium: From time-to-time, new tools and techniques are developed that allow ecologists to pose new questions and take fresh looks at ecosystems. This symposium gathers together ecologists who are improving our understanding of nature through stable isotope analysis. The symposium on Ecological perspectives gained through isotope analysis will take place Friday morning. Workshop: This year we will present a workshop titled Ocean Acidification and Climate Change: Dis-Solving the Mystery. Please join us Thursday evening, 6-8 pm, where we will learn about this important area of research. The workshop will be followed by the student mixer.
Mixer: One of the great traditions of WSN, the workshop will be followed by a casual student mixer. This will take place at a nearby establishment; everyone (especially students, but post-docs, etc welcome as well) should stop by Thursday evening after the workshop to open up the meeting.
Auction: To raise funds for student travel, the auction will be held at the Presidential banquet.
If you have items to donate, please contact Laura Carney at lcarney@sciences.sdsu.edu.
