Laura Carney is a graduate student in ecology in the joint doctoral program between University of California, Davis and San Diego State University. She studies how delayed development of kelp microscopic stages regulates kelp population persistence and genetic structure. Laura has been a member of WSN since 2002. She periodically builds outhouses in India.

Elizabeth Hoaglund studies marine ecology and physiology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is interested in factors that mediate the geographic range limits of intertidal invertebrates. She occasionally takes field trips to cold places, and is not above stealing lab equipment to employ as snowboards.

Rosemary Romero is a graduate student in the Phycology Lab at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. She studies how life history characteristics of Ulva spp contribute to its efficient colonization of the intertidal after a disturbance. Rosemary has been a member of WSN since 2005. She has been known to take advantage of fruiting seaweeds.
